Vanessa Jarvis obtained her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from UCLA, and her law degree from Western State University. Practicing since 1999, she has devoted her career to litigation, representing clients at hearings and trials in state and federal court, as well as before administrative agencies and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Vanessa began her career as an insurance defense attorney defending her clients in various areas including personal injury, employment, and asbestos litigation. While being an insurance defense attorney proved to be a great training ground, ultimately Vanessa found the work of representing Fortune 500 companies to be unfulfilling. Seeking more fulfilling work, Vanessa changed her focus in 2007, when she began to devote her talents to exclusively representing plaintiffs, primarily in employment law. Since then, Vanessa has represented employees in many areas including sexual harassment, race, gender and religious discrimination, failure to accommodate disabilities, as well as wage and hour matters.
